11/01/03 - Five K Computers Secures Airport HotSpot Project
The Board of Directors for the Yakima Airport have approved the Five K Computers & Internet Services'proposal for the installation of a wireless Internet hotspot at the main airport terminal. The installation of equipment and testing for the new service will be completed in the month of December. The project also will include a web enabled camera that will provide live weather picture updates from the airport and offer a dramatic view of the Ahtanum Ridge. This hotspot will allow travelers to connect to the Internet via their laptop computers in a wireless environment and receive/send their e-mails and any other Internet related activities. Five K is please to have been selected for this valuable service and looks forward to other technology projects with the Yakima Airport as it continues to grow and expand.
